Day of the Dead Festival - Face Painting

During college we spent the first 6 weeks researching four subjects for our face painting project.

Cats, Clowns, Fantasy and Halloween.

I love sugar skulls whether it's tattoo form or sugar form and I wanted to recreate the depth of colour and intricate detail that goes into each kind of design. I chose to do half of the face as I wanted it to look like a mask.



























Mexico celebrates Life by holding the Day of the Dead Festival. The Sugar skulls are hand crafted out of sugar. The designs vary, but all seem to incorporate flowers. These in my design.
